From Farmgirl To Fabulous
When I was growing up in the 50’s and 60’s I was caught in the middle of two ambiguous eras where strong female role models were just beginning to surface and the movement toward more independent, self-actualized women was growing.
Looking back, I recall certain women that captured my attention and began to shape me into the woman that I am today; Divas that flaunted their autonomy and strengths despite the confines and conformities of a highly conventional era.
As time marched on my love of animals, specifically dogs, led to establishing Woofology, a canine learning and behavioral center, which boasted 40 trainers and 9 training locations in the greater Detroit area.
I let that company as its founder and CEO for twenty years, promoting and building the company through various opportunities as a radio and television personality as well as multiple seminars and public speaking engagements. Through innovative promotion and humane training methodology, the enterprise became one of the largest canine learning centers in the country. Today it is owned and run by a very talented and humane trainer, Lisa Laney. Visit her site at http://www.woofology.com/.
I then took a six year stint as a Regional Sales Manager for Connecting Neighbors, a company providing internet-based marketing systems to the Real Estate Industry, and was eventually promoted to Regional Director of the Connecting Neighbors Corporation and conducted sales management for the West and Midwest states.
Today
Today I am pursuing my passion and definitely in my element. I’m up to my elbows in speaking, coaching, writing, thrift and renovation. I am combining my diverse background with the growth of the burgeoning thrift markets. Embarking on a writing, speaking, and coaching career seemed to be the next natural course; one that would uplift and embrace the world’s aspiring Divas.
