Diva Event Checklist for Venues
4 weeks prior to The Diva Event:
- Request marketing flyer from Thrift Talk Diva, LLC (Jennifer – jseeleyconsulting@gmail.com)
- Print, and then display a stack of flyers on counter registers, entry doors, and strategic spots within your stores.
- If you have requested to have a complimentary copy of Tossed & Found for display purposes, please prominently display the book along with the event flyers at each checkout counter.
- Post events on various online event calendars
- Send (provided) press releases to all media outlets in your area
o Newspapers
o Magazines
o Radio Stations
o Television Stations (Local/cable)
o Blog Talk Radio and Podcasting - If you are putting on a Frugal Fashion Show, pull outfits for the following categories:
o Coffee Comfy Sleepwear
o Dynamic Daywear
o Exciting Evening Wear
o Warm & Wooly Outerwear OR Cool & Chic Summer wear
o Cruisewear - Line up models (When working with amateur models, we suggest they wear no more than two outfits per show)
2 weeks prior to event:
- Send invitations to your customers/mailing list
- Train staff to place flyers in every bag and talk up the event
- Post the event on Social Media sites daily (Face Book, LinkedIn and Twitter)
- Post flyers at local businesses o Coffee Comfy Sleepwear
o Coffee Shops
o Restaurants
o Real Estate Offices
o Grocery Stores
o Hair & Nail salons
o Massage & Fitness Centers - Decide on and order refreshments for your event
- Provide Thrift Talk Diva (Jennifer – jseeleyconsulting@gmail.com)) with a photo of you or your storefront to be used on the Thrift Talk Diva website
1 week prior to event:
- Let Thrift Talk Diva know the number of registrants
- Send reminder press releases to media outlets in your area
- Continue daily Social Media blast
- If holding a fahion show:
o Let Thrift Talk Diva (Jennifer) know how many models you will be using
o Provide a description of each outfit and total cost of each outfit
3 days before the event:
- Send a reminder to your customer/mailing list about the event
- Provide enough seating for pre-registered guests
- Secure tables for food and drink area
- Provide Thrift Talk Diva with 3 tables
1 day before the event:
- Let Thrift Talk Diva know final count
- Arrange for models to arrive 1 hour prior to the event
- Continue to remind customers of the event at check-out
- Purchase or bring in refreshments and beverages
Day of the event:
- Provide a blank wall or screen for Barb to project her PPT
- Remind customers of the event when they check-out
- Arrange for staff to arrive 1 hour prior to the event to prepare and greet attendees
